A VISION FOR NAPLES

That feeling is part of a story that began nearly seventy years ago. When The Moorings was created in 1957, it was built around an extraordinary idea of what life in Naples could be. Waterways were brought inland, giving residents access by boat to the Gulf through Doctors Pass. And along the Gulf itself, a beautiful stretch of beach was reserved exclusively for residents of The Moorings. The result was something remarkably difficult to duplicate today: a neighborhood where you can step onto your boat behind your home and, within minutes, be headed toward the Gulf—passing some of Naples' most beautiful waterfront homes along the way. Or take the golf cart in the other direction and spend the afternoon on your own quiet stretch of private beach.

And then there is this particular spot. The home sits at the northeast corner of a magnificent stretch of open water, with the back of the property facing almost due south. Sunshine pours across the pool and into the house throughout the day. The backyard slopes gracefully toward the water, and as evening arrives, the sunset unfolds to the west.

But perhaps what's most beautiful is how little the house tries to compete with any of it. The architecture is substantial without being imposing. The craftsmanship is evident without asking to be noticed. It is fresh, bright and open, with beautiful woodwork and thoughtful details throughout—but nothing screams, look at me. Instead, the house seems designed to keep your attention exactly where it naturally wants to go. Outside.

The water, the palms, the sky and the Florida sunshine are always part of the rooms you're living in. Inside and outside don't feel like two different places here. They feel like one. And maybe that's the real story of this home. Nearly seventy years after The Moorings was first imagined, this is still the Naples dream in its purest form: sunshine pouring through the house, open water just beyond the pool, the Gulf only a beautiful boat ride away, and a private beach waiting when you'd rather put your feet in the sand.
